The idea for Skazkin Dom came to Ekaterina when her elder children were 3 and 6 years old.
We read many fairy tales, and they kept asking countless questions: "Where do the Three Bears live? Why was Masha uncomfortable in the biggest bed? How can we get to Baba Yaga’s place? Is she kind or wicked?‥"
This sparked the idea to bring fairy‑tale characters together in one place-a space where children could visit them as guests. At that time, in 2009, there wasn’t a single interactive museum in our city that combined play and learning.
When Ekaterina and her children first visited the Junibacken fairy‑tale museum, the vision for the future project finally came into focus.
"Together with our partners, we opened and created a new form for the entire country-children's play spaces operating in the edutainment format."
